If you live in Texas, a representative can come to your home or business and provide a demo of the devices. It typically will take 1-2 hours. Invite other therapists and friends to observe. You can look in the Schedule to determine if a representative will be in your area on a convenient day.

Our experienced staff is able to provide assistive technology trainings for computer access, seating systems for wheelchairs and training on programming for communication systems for Texas residents. Time and location can accommodate your schedule –individual (as well as groups) to train you on your EyeTech Mini or ET, Brainfingers, Myomo, and other computer access devices. Some people require more intense training at one setting and others like to have training several times in smaller time allotments.
Trainings can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 4 hours and can be scheduled at your clinic or home. Please specify, when you call, what kind of training you need. It is important that we arrange speech therapists, teachers, aides, parents etc. be present if you if you want everyone to be able to program the device. A representative will be providing the training and will provide you with contact information needed for follow-up help.
*Note: Trainings should and most often occur within the first 2 weeks of receiving your device. However, you are able to look at the Education Service Centers for additional trainings and it is often helpful to ask them to schedule a training if that is more convenient for you.
You may have questions about the appropriateness of a particular device or system with your client or for your own personal use. Our representative can come to your home or business and let you try out different access devices and software to see what best fits your individual needs. A representative can arrange a convenient time to meet and explore your individual options. If our devices are not the right fit, we will suggest and provide information about other things available that may be more useful and help you to access your world!

An individual may try out devices ranging from low-tech to high-tech devices. You are encouraged to try out other devices from other vendors to make sure that you are acquiring the system and support that will meet all of you or your clients needs.
Evaluations can take 1 to 2 hours and can be scheduled at your clinic or home. Please specify, when you call, what kind of evaluation you need. It is important that we arrange wheelchair vendors to be present if you are looking to buy a new seating system. An occupational therapist will be providing the evaluation and will help with the report necessary for your insurance company if you are purchasing a wheelchair.
*Note: Only a speech-language pathologist can provide your report for a communication device. At this time, we do not have a therapist available to complete that evaluation. However, we will assist with the needed paperwork and provide support and sample reports to make the process easier
