Our experienced staff is able to provide assistive technology trainings for computer access, seating systems for wheelchairs and training on programming for communication systems for Texas residents. Time and location can accommodate your schedule –individual (as well as groups) to train you on your EyeTech Mini or ET, Brainfingers, Myomo, and other computer access devices. Some people require more intense training at one setting and others like to have training several times in smaller time allotments.
Trainings can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 4 hours and can be scheduled at your clinic or home. Please specify, when you call, what kind of training you need. It is important that we arrange speech therapists, teachers, aides, parents etc. be present if you if you want everyone to be able to program the device. A representative will be providing the training and will provide you with contact information needed for follow-up help.
*Note: Trainings should and most often occur within the first 2 weeks of receiving your device. However, you are able to look at the Education Service Centers for additional trainings and it is often helpful to ask them to schedule a training if that is more convenient for you.
